The beach

I have been wanting take my camera down to the beach for awhile now. We went down late this afternoon. The skies grey, threatening rain - however, as usual nothing eventuated.

I always am interested when reading anything related to photgraphy what camera and lens are they using. In my case - I am using a Canon 500D, I bought it with the single lens kit - which is the 18-55mm, however, since I bought the 50mm 1.8 I have not used the kit lens. All these photos - and the photos from the post before have been taken the 'nifty fifty'

All these photos are straight out of the camera (SOOC) - I havent worked out Photoshop yet. That is my next thing to learn.

  1. Gorgeous! So you are a Canon girl... I am a Nikon chick! I have a Nikon D80 which I have had for 3.5 years now! I didn't get the kit lenses. I bought a Nikkor 18-200mm f3.5-5.6 lens which is a great general purpose lens but I have to say that I would love a f2.8 lens across the same focal length! I also have a nifty fifty - a Nikkor 50mm f1.8 which is fabulous, plus my most recent acquisition about a year ago which is my Nikkor 100mm f2.8 macro lens :)

  2. By the way, don't use Photoshop, get adobe light room. It is fantastic. And shoot in RAW. Means it takes bit longer as you have to process the photos but Lightroom makes it easy and it's really worth it. I only ever shoot in RAW now when using my DSLR
